《書法報》于 1983 年 11 月試刊，1984 年 1 月正式創刊，是我國創刊最早、影響最廣、發行量最大的書法專業報。曾榮獲中國書法最高獎——蘭亭獎(編輯岀版獎)，行銷全國及海外 20 多個國家和地區，被譽為“中國書法第一報”。

　　書法報社現有《書法報》《書法報· 書畫天地》《書法報· 書畫教育》《書法報· 硬筆書法》 。 《書法報》系列報紙專注藝術高度、學術深度，兼顧大眾性和普及性，加強策劃和創意，強化服務與互動，不斷提升品質。相繼成立書法報社書道文化有限公司、書法報互聯網股份有限公司、書法報視頻媒體有限公司。注重新媒體的建設，積極探索數字化轉型升級，在書法業界率先打造“一網五際”融媒體平臺 ;創新經營理念，開發書法衍生品近 200 余種。
